TDL Part Kate

Oh darlings, I’ve been waiting to do this post FOR-EV-ER. I wanted to do her first both (in more ways than one) on this list. But, I waited. I was trying to dig into my brain parts for more obscure and less obvious picks before I showcased my quasi-obsession with one Miss Kate Winslet.

Ever since I was Titanic back in 1998 I’ve been kind of a little bit more than infatuated with this lady. I was twelve years old, y’all. And I had more pictures of Kate on my walls than I had Leo. That was the first sign that I might be slightly homo-ish. This was also the period of time where I was rawkin’ a Houston Comets WNBA jersey every other day. Pretty damn gay.

I knew I was attracted to her in more of a “she’s beautiful” way than a “I love Titanic” way. But, the love affair dwindled after a spell and was not reignited until I was in high school. I got on a film kick and began watching movie after movie–and one of them was none other than Titanic. I saw it again and since that infamous date I have been head over heels in lust with her. I was even a member of a fan forum where we just talked about Kate. It was crazy shit.

And now I just admire from a far–on my own terms–no restraining order…. yet. She’s married, has a family, yada yada yada. She’s a real live straight lady, but I can’t help feeling a strong strong strong admiration for her as a woman, as an actress, as a person, and as a sex symbol. She’s fabulous. And I was giddy as a schoolgirl when she won the Academy Award this year for “The Reader.”

If you aren’t a fan–I suggest renting “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Revolutionary Road,” “Iris,” “Sense and Sensibility,” “Finding Neverland” and “The Reader.” And then get back to me.

She’s versatile in terms of acting and in terms of her look. I love it. And her smile is so authentic and beaming and sigh… I just adore her ok? Heh.
